The Family Legacy Solution™ – What To Expect At Meetings With Us

Ian King, Thursday May 22, 2014

Following on from Gina’s post a couple of weeks ago providing an introduction to us at the Family Legacy SolutionTM, Gina now expands upon how we structure our meetings with clients…..

Working Together

Once you have decided to begin your financial journey, it can be difficult to know what to expect when you decide to contact any financial planner for advice.

We look at financial planning differently and want to make a difference to people’s lives, so we would like to guide you through a step by step process of what will happen if you decide you would like to arrange a meeting with us.

The Capability Explorer

The starting point of your financial journey is to arrange an appointment for our financial planner to come and meet with you, this can either be at your home or in our office. This is a chance to get to know each other, so for us to learn and understand what you are looking for and for you to get to know us. We will mainly focus on you, by discussing your vision for the future and building a platform that we can eventually implement for you. We will work with you to record some basic information and begin to build a picture of your vision and we will discuss what we can do for you to make this happen.

The Vision Meeting

After the initial consultation at The Capability Explorer, we will then arrange a Vision Meeting with you. This will allow us to fully explore your hopes and aspirations for your family and for the future. We will discuss your current financial position, family situation, your future goals and your understanding of investment risk. This will allow us to build up a clear picture of your aspirations and we will send some information out to you before the meeting so you can prepare anything that you would like to discuss in advance.

The Strategy Meeting

Once we have built a picture of your aspirations for the future from The Vision Meeting, we will then work closely together to build an achievable step by step financial plan, tailored to your needs by uniting your vision with your financial capabilities, to help us to make your aspirations a reality.

The Family Impact Discussion

You will then have an opportunity to bring all of the family together to discuss how your vision compares and differs to each others. Clients often find this stage interesting as we have discovered that families often don’t discuss together their vision the future and can highlight areas together that some members of the family have not thought about before.

The Implementation Meeting

Once everything has been agreed upon, this is where we put your financial plan into action and to implement everything that we have previously discussed. There may be some parts of your plan that you can implement yourself and there may be some bits that you need professional assistance with, for example if you need any legal services. We will be available to help and guide you through everything that needs to be arranged.

Progress Appraisal

We believe in providing a long-term commitment to you and your family so we will provide regular reviews and keep you updated with you plan and make any changes if and when your vision changes. We want to build lasting relationships and we will always be available if there is ever anything that you wish to discuss. It is important to regularly review your financial plan to make sure that your plan is achievable and to also review your goals, as your situation may change or there may be changes to legislation which affects your financial plan. We will always be there to offer guidance through your entire financial journey.
